Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Do
I have to fill in the whole form ?
A. The bare minimum of information is size, sale
price, designer/retailer, email address, and location. Email
is the primary method of contact between buyers and sellers.

Q. Why
did I not receive a confirmation after submitting my form
?
A. A confirmation is automatically sent to the email
address entered on the advertising form, thus if one is not
received you may have made a typo on the form.

Q. Will
our faces be shown online ?
A. No, as a matter of course we blur out all faces
in photos.

Q. How
do I optimise photos for the web ?
A. This can easily be done in professional programs
such as Fireworks, Photoshop, or Paint Shop Pro. There are
also a number of free utilities available to download on the
internet which will do the same.

Q. What
is the legal status of the pictures online ?
A. All wedding photos remain the property of their
originator, and should not be reproduced without permission.
Pictures from magazines, or publicity brochures, or even photographers
proofs, will have some form of copyright attached, and permission
must be sought before they are submitted to our site. Recently
(Feb 06) we have been approached by Ian Stuart and Sincerity,
who specifically instructed us to remove advert photos which
were taken directly from their own product brochures, without
permission.

Q. Are
my credit card details safe ?
A. Credit/debit card details entered over the Paypal
or WorldPay secure servers are not passed on to ourselves,
we are merely informed when payment has been made. All card
users should note the secure server address warning on the
relevant payment pages as they proceed through the payment
processes.

Q. What
does my advertising fee buy ?
A. Six months of advertising on our three Almost
New websites, unless you instruct us to remove your advert
before that time, hopefully because a sale has been made.

Q. Can
I have a refund of my advertising fee ?
A. Refunds of advertising fees, for whatever reason,
can only be made in the first seven days after payment.

Q. Does
this website charge commission on gown sales ?

for six months of advertising.

Q. How
do I arrange a sale ?
A. All sales are arranged in private between buyer
and seller, in much the same way you would arrange to sell
something using the classified ads in your local newspaper.

Q. Can
I change some details of my advert after it has gone live
?
A. Yes, simply send us an email with the required
changes and please quote your dress advert ID number (eg 10-425).

Q. I
am interested in a gown but there is no reply to my emails.
A. We advise to keep trying for a couple of weeks,
the seller may be on holiday, or have PC problems. They may
also have changed email address without informing us, in which
case the chances of getting in touch are remote.

Q. How
do I spot a scam email ?
A. Unfortunately some of the people who contact
you may not be entirely genuine, and may be attempting a financial
scam. We have prepared a separate page of advice, but do not
claim it is in any way exhaustive in all the dodgy practices
which may be out there. Click HERE
